PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Paperman and Wreck-It Ralph are films made by Walt Disney Animation Studios, not Pixar Animation Studios. Disney (the company) owns Pixar, but these are completely distinct animation studios: Pixar Animation is in Emeryville, CA (near San Francisco); Disney Animation is in Burbank, CA (near Los Angeles). They do not share employees or projects, and the people at one studio don’t know much about what’s going on at the other. It’s very flattering to Disney when people assume their movies are Pixar’s, because Pixar has come to be associated with the highest quality, but credit where credit is due, please.
If you live within driving distance of LA and want a chance to see Paperman in the theatre before Wreck-It Ralph comes out, the word is it’s going to be playing in front of Cinderella at the El Capitan, August 15-30. It’s far and away my favourite thing that’s been made in my time at Disney, even though it’s just a short; I can’t recommend it highly enough.
